Appleton Contender Series
The Appleton™ Contender™ 4/4X Series by Emerson is a reliable control solution for both indoor and outdoor environments exposed to moisture, corrosive elements, dust, fibers, or flyings—conditions common in Class II and III hazardous locations.
While most Class I hazardous areas are rated Division 2, many facilities still deploy Division 1 explosion-proof controls in these settings. However, Division 1 enclosures are not designed to protect against environmental challenges like water ingress and corrosion. As a result, equipment can become compromised—leading to operational failures and premature replacement.
