Divergent diffuse model SE612W is particularly useful for sensing transparent or translucent objects (clear plastic or glass) and for dependable sensing of irregular surface features; its excess gain falls off sharply beyond 1 inch. As a result, it may be used when it is necessary to ignore background objects.
