Banner Optical Touch Buttons are touch-activated photoelectric switches designed to replace capacitive touch switches and mechanical push buttons. The Opto-Touch's SPDT electromechanical relay or solid-state output (depending upon model) is activated for as long as a finger, introduced into the touch area (yoke) of the switch, interrupts the Opto-Touch's infrared sensing beam. Banner Optical Touch Buttons are ergonomically designed to eliminate the hand, wrist, and arm stresses associated with mechanical push buttons. They require absolutely no physical pressure to operate. LED indicators light for power on and output activated.

For Two-Hand Machine Trip Controls
Touch-activated photoelectric switches designed to replace capacitive touch switches and mechanical push buttons; The OPTO-TOUCH's SPDT electromechanical relay is activated for as long as a finger, introduced into the touch area (yoke) of the switch, interrupts the infrared sensing beam; Touch buttons are ergonomically designed to eliminate the hand, wrist, and arm stresses associated with mechanical push buttons; They require absolutely no physical pressure to operate; Use MBCC-512 cable; Field covers are designed to prevent inadvertent activation of OPTO-TOUCHs due to objects (loose clothing, debris, etc.) which might accidentally block their sensing beam"
Ergonomic design eliminates hand, wrist and arm stress
Field covers (black) included to prevent inadvertent activation from loose clothing, debris, etc
Optimized for easy mounting with 30 mm threaded base
All models are highly resistant to EMI, RFI, and ambient light interference
Environmental considerations for use of the two types differ
Easily retrofitted to existing machines
Infrared LED sensing beam
12000 lux ambient light
0.05 W minimum wattage
5-pin quick disconnect connection
Prolonged exposure of the opto-touch to direct outdoor sunlight will cause embrittlement of the polysulfone housing, window glass effectively filters longer wavelength ultraviolet and provides excellent protection from sunlight
One lights whenever power is applied; the other lights whenever the switch is activated making the normally-open (NO) output conduct
Normally open/normally closed operation
100000 operations (min.) at full resistive load electrical life of relay, 50000000 operations (min.) mechanical life of relay
7 amps (resistive load), 1 Hp maximum switching current, 0.05 W (DC), 0.05 VA (AC) minimum load
All models require less than 25 mA (exclusive of load)
Protected against reverse polarity and transient voltages
All models protected against false pulse on power-up Models with solid-state outputs have overload and short circuit protection
Black polysulfone upper housing, fiber-reinforced valox base, polycarbonate-pet polyester blend field cover
Thermoplastic polysulfone. 90 percent at 50 deg C (non-condensing). SPDT electromechanical relay
