The Steiner Power Systems Division (Powertron) , of Steiner Electric Company is one of the largest Kohler generator distributors in the United States.We have represented the Kohler line since 1998. Kohler is the leading name for plumbing and bath products, and their world famous golf courses and resorts.

Kohler’s motto is to “Improve the lives of each of their customers who use a Kohler product.” The commitment behind Powertron goes beyond simply providing the best products available.We take responsibility for the maintenance and service repairs for the Kohler generator products within our territory. Our service department is led by Aaron Marquardt, Steiner Power Systems Service Manager along with eight (8) full-time factory trained and authorized service technicians. These technicians are supported by a dedicated parts professional, and three dedicated inside service support personnel. In addition, the team consists of two (2) service sales professionals who prepare maintenance plans and extended warranties to keep your generator in top condition.

A generator is just like any mechanical device or motor driven equipment, they all require periodic maintenance. You must change the oil, check the belts, batteries and radiator hoses, as well as the electrical controls and automatic transfer switches (ATS). Your Steiner Power Systems service engineer is on site once the generator is installed to provide factory trained startup as part of our warranty initiation process. A typical site installation may also include customer training to familiarize our customers with their new gen-set. In addition to servicing the Kohler products that we sell, we also perform preventive maintenance and repair on all other major brands.

Usually our maintenance plans start with a thorough 44-step inspection process. A complete report is generated for our customer, explaining the current condition of the generator as well as any recommended repairs or updates to the equipment. Samples of the oil, coolant, and fuel (diesel units) may be drawn and analyzed to diagnose any internal problems. In addition we have the ability provide load bank testing to assure maximum performance of the generator when it is needed. Powertron service is available 24/7.

We also maintain a large inventory of spare parts and stock many of the popular generator sizes up to 125 KW in both natural gas and diesel. These are available for quick shipment to meet customer needs.

Whatever Steiner can do...we will do to improve the schedule. In addition, we provide a rental fleet of generators for special events, or to back up other electrical equipment. Our Elk Grove rental fleet ranges from 20-180 KW. Larger models are also available through our partnership with Kohler Rental Power in Lombard. This service is available around the clock, seven days a week.
