For over ninety years, Steiner Electric Company has helped firms within every industry market segment grow and prosper.

Whether a commercial high-rise, MDU, healthcare facility, housing development or single family residence, engineers, managers, contractors and installers alike are proud of their completed successful project. We at Steiner are equally proud to play a significant role in achieving these accomplishments, building and growing partnerships with our customers for many decades. This personal interest in customer success and attention to detail now includes the DATACOMM Structured Cabling and Connectivity Group.

To better serve our customers needs DATACOMM and GigaAge are now separate groups. Although two distinct Steiner units, DATACOMM (structured cabling and connectivity) will continue to work closely with GigaAge (wireless, data mobility) to provide end-to-end, seamless Datacomm solutions for all of your infrastructure projects.

Networks
Structured Cabling & Connectivity

For more than 13 years, Steiner has been providing product and services with copper cabling for existing 10BASE-T or 100BASE-T systems, necessitates the additional bandwidth of 10Gb/s Ethernet, or the future capability of 40Gb/s and 100Gb/s fiber optic applications.

Most residential, commercial and industrial applications will require a cable infrastructure that supports increased data transmission into the future. There are projects that will require the ability to manage large amounts of information, quickly in their corporate data management settings, send MRI or CAT scan medical images around the world in a healthcare environment. On the residential side, access to web sites, high definition video, voice, data, Voice Over Internet Protocol (VOIP) within their homes are now the norm.

Convergence
Low voltage communication networks which have long supported all of our voice, video, data and security needs have typically been separate systems. Convergence allows all of these services to be handled together on a single IP based network. Reducing costs to administrators and end users alike, for both consumer and commercial needs, while maintaining or enhancing quality. Under these changed circumstances there will be even greater emphasis placed on performance, reliability, functionality and maintaining traditional ‘five nines’ (99.999% performance and accuracy) ‘Quality of Service’.

CAT5 and CAT5e cable usage in many applications is now no longer adequate to insure appropriate bandwidth (volume) and speed (MHz). When applied to Ethernet cable development, Moore’s Law1, 2 has accurately predicted a 10-fold increase in data rate capability about every 5 years. As more information sources become increasingly digitized, the specification and quality of cabling and connectivity installed becomes ever more important for end-users, requirements that we can help you insure are appropriately met.

This has significant implications; particularly as data file and data packet sizes become larger, more frequent and require more complex applications. All copper cable, optic fiber and connectivity product are not created equally. As with many decisions in life, you typically "get what you pay for". PVC, PE and other protective jacket materials, electrical/environmental shielding and fillers, flex-web and center conductor(s) materials are all specifically formulated and designed not only for near term performance reasons, but to also accommodate inevitable increased data rate demands for years into the future.

Our cabling and connectivity product lines offer the most current copper and fiber optic cable technology available. These product lines are supported by storage, wire management, test equipment, tools and accessories.

Whether your application is commercial, residential, MDU’s, is a publicly or privately funded project, contractor driven, or you are an OEM or industrial end-user, we are here to make you successful.
